Wales v Costa Rica
Costa Rica have qualified for the FIFA World Cup on six occasions, reaching the quarter finals at the 2014 FIFA World Cup where they lost on penalties against the Netherlands.
The Federación Costarricense de Fútbol was founded in 1921 becoming affiliate members of FIFA in 1927. Costa Rica were founder members of the Confederación Centroamericana y del Caribe de Fútbol in 1938 until the formation of Concacaf in 1961.
Wales' first meeting with Costa Rica was a 1-0 friendly victory in Ninian Park, Cardiff in 1990 ahead of Costa Rica's first appearance at the FIFA World Cup.
