Wales v Slovenia

Since becoming independent in 1991, Slovenia have qualified for the FIFA World Cup in 2002 and 2010 as well as the UEFA European Championships in 2000 and 2024.
Following the collapse of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in 1991 the Nogometna zveza Slovenije (NZS) was formed in 1992.

In their first competetive match, Slovenia drew 1-1 with Italy in the opening match of their UEFA Euro 96 qualifying campaign.
Wales' first meeting with Slovenia was a 0-0 draw in a friendly at Swansea's Liberty Stadium in 2004.
