Wales v Kazakhstan

Since gaining independence from the USSR in 1991, Kazakhstan have never qualified for either the FIFA World Cup or the UEFA European Championships.
The Republic of Kazakhstan was formed in 1991 following the break up of the USSR, with the Kazakhstan Football Federation (Qazaqstannyñ Futbol Federatsıiasy) becoming members of FIFA in 1994.
Kazakhstan first became members of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) in 1994 but played their first official match against Turkmenistan in 1992. Kazakhstan entered qualification for the first time in the attempt to reach the 1998 FIFA World Cup finishing top of a group which also contained Pakistan and Iraq.
Wales' first meeting with Kazakhstan was during the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign.
